A princess gets a special unicorn when she turns eight and has adventures with her unicorn and her classmates who are commoners. A lot of magic and fantasy including a wicked aunt who casts spells on unicorns and steals them.

Girl apologizes for making her friends lie- friend responds "We hate lying too but not when it is for the right reasons. Keeping Glimmer (the unicorn) is definitely a right reason". Cartoonish illustration of girls and boy swimming- bathing suits. Girl watches TV.

Girl pretends not to feel well and goes to watch TV. Girl shakes boy's hand when she meets him. Boys and girls dance at a party but described in a romantic way.

Children search for the princess' missing unicorn without telling her parents so that the stable boy doesn't get in trouble. She ends up lying to her parents to protect him. In the end she apologizes for lying to them. Princess ends up making a deal with her evil aunt to get the unicorn back. . Father takes mother's hand to reassure her.

A princess is worried about her eighth birthday. That is when she finds out f there is a unicorn that matches her aura and will become her lifelong companion. Girl doesn't like when her parents make "googly eyes" at each other. She finds out she has an evil aunt that her parents never told her about when her aunt shows up at her birthday celebration. Princess gives an interview to TV reporters. Father takes mothers hand during a ceremony.
